Hello, I am Richard, and I am enthusiastic about telling stories!

With over 30 years of experience in public speaking, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with people in a wide variety of settings from the boardroom to sales meetings, and now, as a celebrant, I feel really very lucky to have been privileged to have shared some of the most joyous and noteworthy times while sharing the lives, memories and successes of others.

For much of my career, I have worked as a senior business manager, leading and mentoring sales teams, motivating individuals to reach their full potential. The skills I homed in that environment, effective communication, listening with empathy, and inspiring others have all come together in my work as a celebrant.
My first experience as a celebrant was like many others, a friend asked me if I could marry them, it went well, and I started getting other requests from friends to officiate at their weddings.

Every person, every couple, and every life story deserve to be celebrated. Whether it is a wedding, a memorial, or any significant life event, such as a baby naming. I take immense joy in creating and sharing meaningful and individual ceremonies that capture the essence of the people involved. I see my role as not just an officiant, but as a storyteller, someone who can bring out the unique beauty of each person’s journey and share it with the world in a way that feels personal, heartfelt, and memorable.

When I’m not celebrating life’s milestones with colleagues, clients or with another ‘happy couple’, you will find me with my family having fun, be it supporting them on the rugby pitch, at dance shows or just throwing a Frisby on the beach we try to enjoy life and remind each other to celebrate one of life’s little victories.

As a celebrant I get the privilege to write and tell the unique stories of others, it never fails to surprise me to see the emotion in the faces of others when a story is told with meaning and conviction, how they connect us, inspire us, and bring so much joy and comfort.
This is a role that I do not take lightly, I make it my duty to understand my clients, listen and I will always go the extra mile to ensure that every single detail of the story is told with careful consideration, always creating ceremonies that truly reflect their values, passions, and love for life.
