Bride and Groom: Brandy and Jason
Venue: Al Qasr Jumeirah Dubai
Date: 18 April 2018
I was lucky enough to be asked to write and perform a wedding ceremony for Brandy and Jason from Florida today.
It was one of the nicest venues with both beautiful greenery and birds on one side, the water and Abra boats cruising by on the water of The Madinat on the other and all with the impressive Burj Al Arab overlooking us.
It’s always fun travelling by a golf buggy to your venue and you just get the feeling it’s going to be a good day.
Brandy and Jason were originally thinking about a big wedding back in the States with their family and friends but , as can often happen, they thought things kind of started running away and the real message of their love, got lost.
Couples often finds this happens. It’s sometimes a good idea to take a step back, re group and think about what is important to you.
Together we prepared a tailor made ceremony which was so special, intimate and heartfelt.
As well as the exchanging of rings and vows, Brandy and Jason decided they would also like to incorporate a Hand fasting Ceremony. The original meaning of ‘tying the knot’. This Celtic tradition is a lovely element to add to your ceremony. The hands of the bride and groom are tied together with ribbons/cords in the shape of the infinity symbol and symbolises the bringing together of the two hearts in a marriage of strength and unity forever.
As the couple enjoyed sailing away together on an Abra, I knew this would be one ceremony I would remember with affection.
