On the day of the wedding, the 26th November 2018, we woke to grey skies. Very unusual for Dubai. It had rained a lot in the night and was still raining.The bride and groom were not going to let this dampen their moods or day though. The forecast was for sun at 3pm. The ceremony was scheduled for 3.30pm.
I arrived at the venue at 1.30pm to set up and do a sound check. Everyone was working very hard to set up on the grass outside of the beautiful Address Montgomerie. The decision had been made to carry on outside and hope the rain stayed away.
As the guests arrived and the groom came to meet me at the top of the aisle, under the beautiful arch, that by the way, the very talented bride had made, the sun made its appearance. Just on time.
The lovely bridesmaids appeared first, followed by the adorable flower girls. Then the moment the groom and guests had been waiting for. The stunning bride, accompanied by her father, appeared at the top of the flower strewn aisle.
We had worked on a lovely, simple wedding ceremony over the 11 months since we met. Two guests read very moving poems and five friends signed their wedding certificate. It was a great way to involve loved ones who had travelled thousands of miles to help their friends celebrate their big day.
It was an absolute pleasure to help this great couple get the ceremony just right for their needs and I loved seeing all the big smiles on everyone’s faces.
A wonderful day was had by all.
