I first met Jo and Sean in the Summer of 2018 in Dubai. They asked if I could meet up with them to find out a bit more about the role of a Celebrant, as they were getting married in the November.
They had quite a good idea of what they wanted. Traditional vows, exchanging of rings, signing of a wedding certificate and to include some family and friends into the ceremony.
After a few meetings and emails back and forth, we had the perfect ceremony ready for their big day.
One of the couples friends, David, played the violin as Jo’s father walked the stunning bride down the beautiful aisle set in the courtyard of the magnificent One and Only Hotel on The Palm Jumeriah, Dubai.
Together, we told the family and friends, who had gathered from all over the world, Jo and Sean’s story. How they met, the love story and of course, the proposal.
They chose one of my favourite readings, The Art of Marriage, by Wilfred A Peterson, and asked Jo’s grandad to read it for us.
Jo and Sean also asked Seamus, Sean’s dad to share a poem with us, Chapter 1 of 1000.
As they exchanged their vows and rings, there were not many dry eyes in the house!
It was a perfect ceremony in a fabulous venue surrounded by their loved ones.
The couple went on to have a great afternoon and evening with all their friends and family and I went home happy knowing that everyone’s wishes had been fulfilled.
Happy Bride and Groom is all I wish for.
